Attorney Agreement
Scope of Participation
All work performed through this site is pro bono and is limited to providing general legal information to participating social service organizations.
You are not providing legal advice, and no attorney–client relationship is created between you and any organization or individual using this site.
By participating, you agree that your role is limited to:
- Reviewing the submitted question; and
- Providing general legal information, educational context, or references to relevant laws or resources.
You are not providing individualized legal advice or representation. You must not use this platform to solicit clients or promote paid legal services.
No Legal Advice or Representation
The information you provide:
- Does not create an attorney–client relationship, and
- Should not be relied upon as legal advice by any user.
If a question appears to require legal advice, individualized guidance, or representation, you should clearly indicate that the user should consult legal counsel outside this platform.
Any continued communication or legal representation outside the site is entirely outside the scope of this agreement and would require a separate engagement between you and the organization or individual, if you choose to undertake it.
Professional Responsibility
Even though you are not forming attorney–client relationships, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, good‑faith general legal information;
- Refrain from providing individualized legal advice;
- Maintain confidentiality; and
- Comply with all applicable ethics rules governing the provision of legal information, including avoiding misleading or confusing statements about your role.
Because your participation involves only the provision of general information, formal conflict checks are not required. However, you should avoid responding if doing so could create confusion or conflict with your professional obligations.
Identity and Communication
Your name will be visible to the organization receiving your information.
No additional personal contact information is shared unless you choose to disclose it.
All communication occurs through this site unless you independently choose otherwise.
Data, Privacy, and Security
State Support will maintain:
- Your name and a record of the number of questions you answer; and
- Aggregate, non‑identifying data about the questions asked.
We maintain the security of the platform and may review questions and responses to:
- Monitor program usage and effectiveness; and
- Provide additional referrals or resources to organizations when appropriate.
Content Retention
Communications and related data stored on the site will be deleted three months after the relevant question is closed.
Except for non‑identifying aggregate program data, no copies are retained elsewhere.

Licensure and Jurisdiction
By participating, you confirm that:
- You are licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction; and
- You will provide information consistent with Minnesota law and applicable federal law.
Because you are not providing legal advice or representation, your participation is limited to general legal educational purposes only.
Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools
You may use AI or automated tools to assist in drafting or researching information.
If you choose to use such tools, you remain fully responsible for:
- The accuracy and clarity of the information you provide;
- Ensuring you do not disclose confidential or identifying information to any AI tools unless confidentiality is preserved; and
- Independently reviewing and verifying AI-generated content before submitting it.
This platform does not require or endorse any particular AI tools.
Participation and Account Status
To maintain an accurate roster of participants:
- Accounts inactive for two years will be automatically deactivated.
- Deactivated attorneys may request reactivation by contacting our office and confirming current licensure.
